School Leadership

 

Peter Ferres, the school founder and shareholder is in charge of school strategy, external relations and marketing, commercial affairs and personnel. Ferres, father of two children in primary and secondary schools, studied Economics and Business Administration in Cologne, Los Angeles and Paris and holds a Diplom-Kaufmann Degree from the University of Cologne (MBA equivalent) and pursued MBA studies at the University of Southern California as Fulbright scholar and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris as Erasmus scholar. He was an investment banker for 20 years in managerial positions in Frankfurt and London. Mr. Ferres retired from the banking world in order to concentrate on his long-planned project 'Metropolitan School Frankfurt'. In 2006-7 he undertook a postgraduate degree in Education at the University of London, taught in London primary schools and became a British Qualified Primary School Teacher in July 2007. Mr Ferres enjoys windsurfing and running. Mr Ferres is German.

Julie Castleford, our head teacher, has 27 years experience both in the UK and internationally and is responsible for the pedagogical leadership of the school. Mrs Castleford has a BA (Hons) degree from the University of Bristol, UK and a PGCE from the University of Warwick. She was awarded both an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Education and Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Management, by the University of Bath. Mrs Castleford is a qualified school accreditation officer for CIS (Council of International Schools) and also an accreditation visiting team leader. In addition to being trained as a PYP consultant, she has worked as a Head teacher in the UK, Switzerland, Oman and Italy before becoming founding Head teacher at MSF. She enjoys painting, drama and classical history and has a specialist intrest in educational provision for gifted and talented students. Mrs Castleford is British.
