School Leadership

 

Peter Ferres, the school founder and shareholder is in charge of school strategy, external relations and marketing, commercial affairs and personnel. Ferres, father of two children in primary and secondary schools, studied Economics and Business Administration in Cologne, Los Angeles and Paris and holds a Diplom-Kaufmann Degree from the University of Cologne (MBA equivalent) and pursued MBA studies at the University of Southern California as Fulbright scholar and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales, Paris as Erasmus scholar. He was an investment banker for 20 years in managerial positions in Frankfurt and London. Mr. Ferres retired from the banking world in order to concentrate on his long-planned project 'Metropolitan School Frankfurt'. In 2006-7 he undertook a postgraduate degree in Education at the University of London, taught in London primary schools and became a British Qualified Primary School Teacher in July 2007. Mr Ferres enjoys windsurfing and running. Mr Ferres is German.

Julie Castleford, our head teacher has 25 years experience internationally and is responsible for the educational aspects of the school.
Mrs Castleford has a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Bristol, UK and a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) from the University of Warwick. She also holds six Master's Module certificates from the University of Bath in such areas as managing an international school, teaching in a bilingual context and equal opportunities in education, also completing Fieldwork training in Leading the High Performance School.
She was awarded an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Education (Leadership and Management) in March 2009. Mrs Castleford is a qualified school accreditation officer for CIS (Council of International Schools).
She has advanced PYP training and has been PYP Coordinator, as well as Head teacher in the UK, Switzerland, Oman and Italy. Mrs Castleford is particularly interested in gifted and talented education. Her interests include painting and classical history. Mrs Castleford is British.
