Age Requirements and Grade Placements
New students will normally be placed into a grade level according to the school’s birth date guidelines. Children must have turned three by July 31 to be enrolled in Kindergarten. Kindergarten candidates must be toilet trained and be able to speak and follow simple instructions.
The July 31 cut-off date guideline applies to all grade levels. However, the school reserves the right to make appropriate grade placements at the discretion of the Headteacher. Previous school experience, language proficiency, social and behavioural characteristics are also taken into consideration. In cases involving a child whose birthday falls within a month of the deadline, grade placement decisions and necessary adjustments are at the discretion of the school.
MSF does not distinguish between so called ‚KannKinder’ and ‚MussKinder’ for enrollments into Grade 1.
