Overview

The MSF curriculum is international, while taking into account the local culture and national academic curriculum requirements in Germany. It is a comprehensive and balanced curriculum designed to meet the needs of the international and domestic student population at MSF. It caters to a wide range of abilities, learning styles and backgrounds with the commitment of providing an academic curriculum in primary school and in secondary school including a worldwide recognized university preparation programme in Grades 11 and 12, the IB-Diploma. In summary we offer "International Education with German Roots".

Details of our Primary Years Programme (PYP) curriculum for the Early Years and the Primary School are included in the parent handbook, a copy of which is available in the school office and in the "Community", "Parent Zone" section on our webpage.

The MSF Middle School Programme curriculum for Grade 6 and above is based on the Cambridge Lower Secondary curriculum, leading to IGCSE examinations in a wide range of subjects. These are externally validated and internationally recognized qualifications taken in Grade 10. Furthermore we are offering the "Realschulabschluss" examinations as German middle school qualification towards the end of Grade 10.

All of our teaching implicitly entails key elements of the German curriculum in both, primary school and middle school.

The Mission Statement of the International Baccalaureate:

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.

To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
